Cryptocurrency Lawyer John Deatonwhich aims to Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) publicly confronted the senator later that year about her stance on price gouging by large corporations.

What happened: Deaton addressed X on Monday and pointed out Warren’s duplicity in her campaign against corporate greed.

“I have personally fought against greedy corporations and insurance companies (including one of your former clients, Traveler’s Insurance) on behalf of working families across the Commonwealth for more than two decades,” Deaton said in response to an earlier X-post by Warren calling for tough measures by the Kamala Harris Administration against price gouging.

The lawyer said he was willing to have a private conversation with Harris about the matter.

Deaton referred to Warren’s defense of insurer Travelers Insurance in a case involving asbestos victims’ claims that ended up before the Supreme Court.

Why it is important: Deaton’s challenge comes as part of his ongoing campaign against Warren, in which he has positioned himself as a staunch supporter of cryptocurrencies.
