Delta Air Lines Ranked as a Leading Employer in Georgia and Michigan

Delta Air Lines secured the top spot as Georgia’s Best Employer in 2024. The airline also took first place in Michigan and narrowly missed out on first place in Washington, where it took a strong second place.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Delta Air Lines was named the best place to work in Georgia for 2024. In partnership with market research firm Statista, Forbes Magazine conducted the survey, which asked 160,000 employees of companies with at least 500 U.S.-based employees to indicate on a scale of one to ten how likely they were to recommend their employer.

According to the survey, the five largest employers in Georgia are:

  1. Delta Air Lines
  2. Costo Wholesale
  3. Apple
  4. Google
  5. Microsoft


Delta frequently ranks at the top of these rankings and is considered one of the best employers in the United States. The company is also among the top five employers in states such as Michigan, Washington, Utah and Minnesota, ranking first, second, fourth and fifth respectively.

According to Glassdoor, Delta is considered one of the best places to work and is also ranked as one of Glassdoor’s “Best Managed Companies.” Over 8,000 employees have rated the airline on the platform and given it a strong five out of five stars, proving it is one of the top employers in the US.

Founded 99 years ago in Georgia, it has its major hub and headquarters at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Together with all of its subsidiaries and regional airlines, Delta operates over 5,400 flights daily, serving more than 300 destinations in 52 countries on six continents. Over 900 of these flights depart from its main base in ATL to over 200 destinations worldwide.

According to the airline’s December 2024 financial results, it employs over 100,000 people. The year was so successful that it paid its employees $1.4 billion in profit sharing, almost 10.4% of their annual salary, double the amount in 2022.

In a statement, Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines, said:


“No one has a greater stake in our success than the 100,000 Delta employees who make it possible every day. It is our employees who set us apart, and their hard work, professionalism and commitment to excellence make this well-deserved profit sharing possible.”

Since 2015, the airline has paid out over $8 billion in profit sharing to its employees, more than any other airline. It is also known for its competitive salaries, bonuses for achieving operational goals, generous retirement contributions and other benefits that earn the company praise from its employees.
