The teaser trailer for the English-language feature film debut “The Room Next Door” by Oscar-winning filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar, starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore, is here.
In the film, Ingrid (Moore) and Martha (Swinton) were close friends in their youth when they worked together at the same magazine.
Ingrid became an autofiction writer, Martha a war reporter. Life circumstances separated the two. After years without contact, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.
John Turturro, Alessandro Nivola, Juan Diego Botto, Raúl Arévalo and Melina Matthews star in the film, which is based on Sigrid Nunez’s 2020 novel What Are You Going Through.
Sony Pictures Classics will handle the film’s U.S. release on December 20, while Warner Bros. Pictures will handle the release in major international markets.
“The Room Next Door” will have its world premiere at the upcoming 2024 Venice International Film Festival and will later screen at the 2024 New York Film Festival.
