American gymnastics superstar Simone Biles was in attendance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Wednesday night as Indiana Fever defender Caitlin Clark made history against the Connecticut Sun.

Biles and her Olympic colleague Gabby Thomas met with the team after the game:

It was a memorable game as Clark sank her 86th three-pointer of the season in the first quarter against Connecticut, setting the new WNBA single-season rookie record. The previous record, set in 2022, was held by Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard.

Biles has made history many times, as her 11 Olympic medals are the most of any U.S. gymnast. At the 2024 Paris Games, she added four more to her medal tally, including three golds in the team, individual all-around and vault finals.

Clark continued to collect accolades during her rookie season, having previously set the new WNBA single-season rookie assist record. record on August 18. She also had 19 assists in a loss to the Dallas Wings on July 17, the highest single point total in WNBA history.

Before Wednesday’s game, she averaged 18.0 points, 8.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Although she struggled with efficiency early in her career, she shot 44.4 percent from the field in her last 10 appearances.

Clark has helped the Fever clinch a playoff spot as they currently sit in 7th place with a record of 14-16.
