Raising Cane’s celebrated its 28th anniversary on August 28 with a lavish event in Boston, opening a one-of-a-kind restaurant made entirely of gold. The special event was attended by a number of celebrities, including Red Sox Hall of Famer David Ortiz, Celtics star Jrue Holiday and award-winning singer-songwriter JVKE. The festivities were hosted by Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves.

The event took place at the restaurant’s new location at 101 Arch St, Suite 105, and featured a striking all-gold design, including gold walls, disco balls, seating, counters and floors. Over 10,000 square feet of gold chrome automotive vinyl was used outside and inside, adding to a luxurious and shiny atmosphere. To ensure a consistent gold aesthetic, Cane’s enlisted several color consultants to coordinate materials such as automotive vinyl wrap, faux gold leaf, powder coating and paint.

The celebration also marked the start of Raising Cane’s Golden Year initiative, which includes a $28 million commitment to support local communities over the coming year. The company has previously donated more than $140 million.

“The true American dream is doing good for people – it’s not about what you earn, it’s about what you give back,” Graves said. “I’ve been very fortunate to be able to do this for the past 28 years. We’ve given back more than $140 million to local communities and plan to give back another $28 million this year alone.”

The Boston event included a grand opening ceremony and was capped off with performances and appearances from high-profile guests. David Ortiz, known as “Big Papi,” expressed his excitement for the event and the brand. “What we’re doing here in Boston is gold, and we’re so grateful that Todd chose Boston to open this new location. Boston is a great city and our fans are the best of the best,” Ortiz said. “Raising Cane’s has been doing this for 28 years and Todd has created a dynasty with this brand. The reason people keep coming back to Cane’s is the tradition.”

Jrue Holiday, Olympic gold medalist and two-time NBA champion, also shared his excitement. “It’s crazy to be here today because the last year has been a whirlwind. I was so honored to play for Team USA in Paris and proud that we brought home the gold,” Holiday said. “So having Todd bring even more gold to this city is a perfect fit – go Celtics!”

Singer-songwriter JVKE, whose hit single “Golden Hour” fits the theme of the day, performed at the event. “This is really coming full circle for me. My biggest song is called ‘Golden Hour’ and it’s surreal to be performing it here today in this golden restaurant,” said JVKE. He also hinted at his upcoming single “Her,” which is set to be released Friday.
