Tiana Lowe Doescher says there is “a feeling” that Big Tech cannot help Harris win on its own

The Washington Examiner Tiana Lowe Doescher said that big tech companies like Meta have realized that there is little they can do to help Vice President Kamala Harris win the 2024 election, and that Harris needs to make her own campaign efforts.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a letter to Congress on Monday that his company would “fight back” against any pressure from the Biden White House to censor content on its platform in the future. Doescher suggested that Zuckerberg may be acknowledging that the Biden-Harris campaign needed a lot of help from Big Tech companies to win the 2020 election and that a similar level of help in 2024 would not be enough to help it win.

“And now, after trying to rig the Republican primaries by taking Donald Trump off the ballot or putting him in jail, they’re rigging the Democratic primaries by keeping RFK J, Cornel West, Jill Stein and all these people off the ballot, and then after the debate, when Donald Trump ends Joe Biden’s career, they replace him with a below-replacement candidate, Kamala Harris,” Doescher said on Fox Business. Morning with Maria Bartiromo“There’s a feeling that no matter how many, how many, the so-called ‘deep state’ but really the media involvement in Big Tech, all these companies, all these institutions, alone still can’t get her across the finish line. She still has to go for an interview.”

Doescher also argued that Harris has not yet given a proper interview with the press since taking President Joe Biden’s place as the Democratic presidential candidate and that her highly anticipated interview with CNN was a “high-risk, high-reward interview.”

She also compared Harris unfavorably to Senator JD Vance (R-OH), former President Donald Trump’s 2024 vice presidential candidate, who managed to “flood the zone with comments” against the Biden-Harris administration in his interviews.

Harris’ interview with CNN, scheduled for Thursday, will be pre-recorded and moderated by news anchor Dana Bash. Harris’ running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), will also conduct the interview.

Last month, Zuckerberg spoke about the assassination attempt on Trump, calling it “one of the craziest things” he had ever experienced. Despite this, he expressed no support for the former president and said he had “no plans” to vote at all.

Since running for Biden in the 2024 election, Harris has seen a surge in support in the race against Trump, trailing the former president by just three percentage points in recent polls. The poll also found Trump well ahead among critical, independent voters, 51% to 40%.
