The Laurenzo, Mandola and Carrabba families will celebrate the 100th birthday and memory of their beloved “Mama Ninfa” on September 19th at The Revaire to benefit the Ninfa Laurenzo Scholarship Fund.

Ninfa Laurenzo was a legendary Houston entrepreneur and businesswoman who, as a young widow with five (5) children, sold tortillas in a small shop next to the family home on the Navigation and became infamous when she introduced the world to the Taco al Carbon.

Affectionately known as “Mama Ninfa,” she dedicated her life to empowering Houston’s youth, especially students in Houston’s East End.

The Ninfa Laurenzo Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2017 based on Mama’s belief that education is the foundation for a person’s future success.

The Laurenzo-Mandola-Carrabba families are all linked through the marriage of Ninfa’s only daughter.
