Ben Affleck celebrated his birthday “exactly” the way he wanted.
A source told PEOPLE that the actor celebrated his 52nd birthday on Thursday, August 15, with a “small birthday party at home” with his children.
“It’s exactly what he wanted. He didn’t want to go out to celebrate. The kids had presents for him and it was sweet,” the source says. “Jennifer (Lopez) came by to congratulate him.”
Affleck is father to children Violet (18), Seraphina (15) and Samuel (12) with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, who was spotted visiting the actor’s rental home in Brentwood, California, earlier in the day, according to photos shared by Page six.

Lopez, 55, was spotted in photos leaving Affleck’s rental home hours after Garner’s visit The Daily Mail.
“The kids were with Ben most of the day. He didn’t leave the house at all on his birthday,” says the insider.
Affleck and Lopez tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022 before celebrating their wedding with a ceremony in Georgia in front of friends and family in August of the same year.

On the same day as Affleck’s birthday, the singer also performed solo at the opening night of the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, where Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga also performed. Atlas The star attended the event after posting solo snaps on Instagram in a Dior dress with a sheer wrap design.
The brief visit to Affleck’s home on his birthday comes after Lopez, who celebrated her birthday in July, spent it separately from the actor in the Hamptons.
The musician hosted a Bridgerton-Theme party. Affleck was not present.

His absence from the event came after the couple spent most of the summer apart due to tensions in their marriage.
“Considering everything that’s going on, Jennifer is having a good summer. She’s had time off and has been able to focus on what’s next,” an insider told PEOPLE in early August, noting that she and Affleck, who recently purchased a new home, are “moving on separately.”
