Alicia Silverstone has no idea what she just ate and her fans are worried.

The 47-year-old “Clueless” star assured her followers on Tuesday that she was fine after sparking concern in a TikTok video when she appeared to eat a poisonous fruit.

“Alive and well!” Silverstone wrote on Instagram and TikTok. “Don’t worry… I didn’t swallow.”

In a TikTok video on Monday, Silverstone bit into a fruit she found on a street in England and asked her followers for help identifying it.

“It was on the street and we were debating whether that was a tomato or not. It’s definitely not one, because look at these leaves,” she said in the clip, pointing to the plant the fruit came from. “…So what the hell is that?”

As she bit into the fruit, Silverstone said, “I don’t think it’s safe to eat. It’s almost like a pepper. Does anyone know what this is?”

In the comments, fans speculated that the plant could have been a Solanum pseudocapsicum, also known as the Jerusalem cherry. According to Gardening Know How, the fruits of the Jerusalem cherry houseplant are “poisonous” and “any part of the plant consumed can lead to poisoning and even death.”

Eating a few Jerusalem artichoke berries or leaves can cause nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, while eating a larger amount can cause drowsiness, hallucinations or heart problems, explains the Northern New England Poison Center.
