All the details about Riley Burruss’ 22nd birthday celebration

Long-time fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta You may remember Riley Burruss visiting her mother, Kandi Burruss, in her home recording studio when she was six years old. Today, Riley is a college graduate and just celebrated her 22nd birthday.

Riley joined her mom and stepdad Todd Tucker on vacation at a tropical destination to ring in her special day with some of her friends. “It’s Riley’s golden birthday!” Kandi shared in an Instagram video posted on her daughter’s big day. “She turns 22 on the 22nd.”

In the video, Kandi, Todd and a few of Riley’s friends shared their favorite things about the birthday girl. Her stepdad went first. “What I love about Riley is that when she sets her mind to something, she takes the initiative,” Todd said. “She always gets it done and makes it happen. And I love that she’s brave and says what she feels and what’s on her mind. Sometimes it gets on my nerves, but I love that trait. A lot of people can’t do that and I love that she just likes to have fun and enjoy life.”

Next it was Riley’s friends’ turn and then the celebration ended with a few words from Kandi. “What I love about you, Riley, is that you are my little me. I’m thankful to God that I have you,” Kandi began. “You are my firstborn and when you set your mind to something, you can do it.”

What’s next for Riley Burruss?

Kandi praised her daughter for graduating from New York University in May 2024.

“You got the whole college thing together without my help because I know nothing about college. She filled out all her stuff, saved up, got through it and boom!” Kandi continued. “I’m just proud of you in so many ways. I love your strength. I love your personality, I love how open you are even when it’s not asked for. I love your smile, your look. I love all of that. Yes, I love everything about you. You’re my child.”

Kandi also paid tribute to her daughter in the caption of her Instagram video. “Happy (Golden Birthday) to my first born (Riley Burruss)!!!!! She turns 22 on the 22nd! My big baby! I love her sooooo much!” she wrote. “You have accomplished so much and you are just getting started! Everyone give (Riley Burruss) some birthday love!!!!”

Riley Burruss’ life in New York City

Although Riley is no longer studying at NYU, she has decided to stay in New York City. Since graduating, Riley has been sharing her life in the Big Apple with her Instagram followers.

On August 19, Riley shared a photo of herself enjoying tea.

“Matcha Mondays,” she captioned the Instagram Story post, which showcased her funky pink manicure, a designer handbag and a gorgeous ring.

A few months earlier, in May 2024, Riley shared an emotional post on Instagram about how her mother inspired her to pursue a degree in the music business.

“I have been surrounded by music my entire life, which I want to thank my mom (Kandi) for. Always being surrounded by my mom and her music inspired me to pursue a degree in music, so having the opportunity to study music business has been an incredible journey!” she wrote in the post’s caption. “I have truly fallen in love with my studies over the past four years. As the first college student in my family, I am so proud of myself for reaching the finish line and staying on track to earn this degree.”
