Blizzard World was released a few years ago in the original Overwatch and celebrates all of the developers’ games, but it seems as Overwatch2 The players don’t know all the abbreviations yet.

When Overwatch2 came out, the hero roster, cosmetic items, and many of the original maps carried over. While some maps continue to make their way into the sequel after layout and aesthetic changes, locations like Route 66, Eichenwalde, and Dorado were available on day one. Arcade mode can provide access to certain maps that may not be included in the standard or competitive rotations. Blizzard World is an original map that was conspicuously absent from these map rotations at the launch of Overwatch2A gamer made a video showing how many players miss an important shortcut to the Blizzard World capture point.

The clip begins with the player, as Kiriko, approaching a door leading to the first objective while three of his teammates take the long route. While many players take the long route because of the cargo trail, the shortcut highlighted by this Reddit user allows them to defend the point faster. Since they took the shortcut, they were at the point before their team since they chose the path that leads under the Alliance Gate to the capture point. After switching to Junker Queen, the player attempts to lead an allied Mercy through the shortcut, but Mercy chooses the long route as well.


Players might miss this shortcut to Blizzard World


While PuzzleheadedTry6507 effectively uses Overwatch2to try to direct their team, the instructions will be ignored. Blizzard World has many small doors like the one used in this shortcut that lead nowhere helpful, or they lead to inactive spawn rooms. Given the chaotic nature of this map layout, players seem to take familiar routes to get to their destination, as this video shows. Since defending players need to reach that capture point as quickly as possible if they are killed in combat, this shortcut can help them get back there.


Since some players don’t seem to know this shortcut in Blizzard World, the developers could add an icon above the door to make it more obvious, but posts like this will also help. As Blizzard continues to release updates Overwatch2Future maps may contain similar unknown shortcuts, so it’s best to explore them thoroughly.
