This week’s Big Country Pet of the Week is Rhonda.
Rhonda
Rhondais is waiting to meet her new family at the Humane Society of the Palouse. She is 2 years old, 42 pounds, full grown, Boxer mix. She will besoon paid. Described by the shelter staff as affectionate, playful, nervous and loyal.
Rhonda is a very sweet and loyal girl who is looking for an owner who will love her while respecting her boundaries. She displays a nervous exterior, especially in the noisy environment of the kennels. The chain link barrier seems to frustrate Rhonda, and eye contact with strangers can stress her out in this situation. When you meet Rhonda outside, it’s clear how sweet she really is. She will walk right up to you, sniff you, and immediately ask to be loved. Rhonda is also very playful! She loves to do play arches and chase toys. She can sit on command and seems very content when she earns her treats. One issue for Rhonda is food aggression. It will be important to give her the time and space she needs to finish her meals in her new home. Unfortunately, it is not known if Rhonda has ever lived with cats, dogs or children.
Each adoption comes with a seven-day foster period that can help ensure a good fit for the entire family. HSoP requires that all dogs meet all other dogs in the household before leaving HSoP. Anyone interested in Rhonda can visit her at HSoP Monday through Saturday between 2 and 5 p.m. She will be spayed, have all vaccinations, and microchipped with her new owner’s information when she goes home.
