Where to eat and drink in New York City at the 2024 US Open

The US Open is arguably one of the most popular tennis events in America. The annual tennis tournament is held in New York City and attracts some of the biggest stars in tennis. This year, in addition to brands like American Express, Grey Goose, Heineken and Emirates, the stadium also has some incredible local culinary sponsors preparing snacks for visitors on the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

If you can’t make it to the games, numerous restaurants in New York City are also celebrating the tournament by offering the US Open’s signature cocktail, the Honey Deuce, alongside specially curated menus. But no matter how you choose to watch the tennis matches, these food and beverage establishments inside and outside the stadium are serving up delicious options.

Honey Deuce cocktail at Dante

Dante, a Greenwich Village favorite, will be serving the legendary Honey Deuce cocktail throughout the tennis tournament. In typical Honey Deuce fashion, each cocktail will be served with three melon balls on top, designed to mimic a tennis ball. In collaboration with Grey Goose, the iconic Italian restaurant will serve the drinks in limited-edition cups that can be taken home as a souvenir.

Enjoy a tennis lunch menu at Industry Kitchen

With its panoramic views of the Brooklyn skyline, Industry Kitchen is a fantastic place to watch tennis matches. In honor of the US Open, the restaurant is offering a pre-set lunch and dinner menu with specialties like baseline lobster ravioli, drop-shot kale and Brussels sprout salad, and cross-court short rib bao bun.

Enjoy Matchpoint cocktails and snacks at Bar Tontine

During the Open, Bar Tontine will host exclusive watch parties, showing the tournament live on big screens. The 15th floor rooftop bar will also offer match point cocktails and snacks from JF Restaurants, the restaurant group owned by Michelin-starred chef John Fraser. Menu options include the Big Grin Burger, a smashed Black Angus patty with beefsteak tomatoes, cucumbers, melted suet and American cheese, topped with Grin sauce, and a tennis pistachio ice cream sandwich.

Enjoy a game, a set and a match in Seville

For a fun nighttime activity, head to The Seville, a speakeasy-style cocktail lounge in NoMad. This cozy spot mixes Game, Set, Match, a tennis version of an espresso martini cocktail made with Grey Goose, Borghetti, Grand Marnier, and espresso.

Grab a tennis ball cookie at The Mark

Iconic New York hotel The Mark sells tennis-themed treats at its hot dog stand. In addition to black and white tennis balls, the hotel also offers fun tennis ball cookies, which make a great sweet midday treat. In addition, guests who check into the hotel also receive a tennis cookie as a nice token of appreciation.

Drink a US Open-inspired margarita at Cooper’s NYC

Inspired by the US Open winners, Cooper’s NYC will serve a delicious 24K Magic Margarita during the tennis event. The specially prepared drink consists of Chrome Horse Society Tequila, Grand Marnier, edible gold glitter, Italicus, freshly squeezed lime juice and agave.

Snack on Match Point Mint Chip Ice Cream by Van Leeuwen x American Express

To celebrate tennis season, American Express has partnered with Van Leeuwen to create a limited-edition tennis-inspired ice cream flavor called Match Point Mint Chip x Amex. The green mint chip ice cream with blue icing will be available at 23 Van Leeuwen ice cream shops in New York City and will also be available for sampling at the US Open American Express Fan Experience on select days during the tennis tournament.

Sip the official Dobel US Open Tequila cocktails at the Ritz Carlton New York, Central Park

In collaboration with Dobel, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park is offering tequila-based US Open cocktails. The hotel is the only hotel to serve the specially crafted cocktails, including Ace Paloma and Dobel 50, in Contour or through room service throughout the Open.

Eat steaks at celebrity-favorite Benjamin Steakhouse

For the past decade, Benjamin Steakhouse has been a staple at the US Open. The celebrity-favorite eatery, which has hosted Roger Federer, Frances Tiafoe and Anna Wintour, will return to the Open with dishes including steaks, salads, seafood, cocktails and wine on the menu.

Enjoy specialty cocktails and wines at the Racquet Bar by IHG Hotels & Resorts

With its stunning patio in front of Arthus Ashe Stadium, IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Racquet Bar is a great place to cool off between the day’s games. The shaded outdoor space will offer specialty cocktails and a curated wine list from August 19 through September 8.

Grab delicious chicken nuggets at Coqodaq

Coqodaq, the latest concept from the team behind Cote, will debut at the US Open this year, serving dishes such as The Golden Nugget, a box of chicken nuggets served with a can of caviar and mother-of-pearl spoons shaped like tennis rackets, as well as other exclusive offerings.
