Green Bay voters participate in Wisconsin primary

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Today, voters in our neighborhoods will cast their ballots for the August 2024 Wisconsin primary election. We’ll be following the latest election results here.

Voters were asked two questions about who has the authority to decide on the approval and allocation of funds in Wisconsin.

State referendum question 1: Voters decided not to prohibit the legislature from delegating funds

8:30 p.m.: The first election results are slowly becoming available.

US Senate – Republican Primary
Republican Eric Hovde will face incumbent Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin in November, with both candidates eyeing the general election, which will take place shortly after the polls close.

8:00 p.m.: The polls in our neighborhoods are now closed. If you are still in line and were there before the polls closed, stay in line. You can find the latest election results here.

19:00: With just an hour left until polls close, here’s a look at some of the key elections we’re following:

US Congressional District 8 – Meet the candidates

Republicans Tony Wied, Roger Roth and Andre Jacque are vying in November to challenge Democrat Dr. Kristin Lyerly, who is running unopposed in this primary. The seat was previously held by former U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher, who announced he would not seek re-election and then resigned in April.

US Senate – Republican Primary

Eric Hovde, Charles E. Barman and Rejani Raveendran are all hoping for a chance to challenge incumbent U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin in November. The candidates took to social media today to remind people to vote.

Our Harm Venhuizen was there when Republican US Senate candidate Eric Hovde cast his vote near Madison. The candidate then railed against the use of mail-in ballots and called on conservatives to monitor them for voter fraud.

Voting questions

Voters will also be asked two questions about who gets to decide how Wisconsin approves and allocates funds. More information on these questions can be found here.

Polls close at 8 p.m. If you are in line when the polls close, stay there.

18:00: There are still two hours until the polls close. If you are not yet registered as a voter, you can register at the polling station.

You must bring the following with you:

  • Driving license or identity card
  • Proof of Residence – the following documents are all acceptable as proof of residence as long as they contain the voter’s name and current residential address
    • WI driving license or identity card
    • invoice for additional costs
    • Bank statement
    • Property tax notice or receipt
    • Residential rent

5:00 p.m. If you still need to return your ballot, you have until the polls close at 8 p.m.

16:00: Voters have four hours left to participate in the Wisconsin primary election, and the Wisconsin Elections Commission says they will need a photo ID to cast their vote.

3:00 p.m.: Voters have five hours left to participate in the Wisconsin primary election. Polls close at 8 p.m. Anyone still in line at 8 p.m. can cast their vote.

7:00 am: Polls are open across Wisconsin. Voters in our neighborhoods will be weighing in on several elections, including a Republican primary for U.S. Senate and a Republican primary for U.S. Congress in the 8th District. In addition to these important elections, voters will be asked two questions. Both have to do with who has the power to determine how funds are allocated and distributed in Wisconsin.
