New nonstop flight from Southwest Airlines: Tucson to Sacramento

Southwest Airlines is expanding its service at Tucson International Airport with a new nonstop route to California.

Starting in March 2025, only weekend flights will be offered between Tucson and Sacramento, Southwest announced on Thursday, August 22, as it extended its flight schedule through early April 2025.

According to Tucson International Airport, Sacramento will be the eighth city Southwest flies to nonstop from Tucson. The airline also flies to Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Diego.

Alaska Airlines will also offer a flight from Tucson to Sacramento next year. The route is seasonal and will operate from January to April.

When will Southwest Airlines start flying from Tucson to Sacramento?

Southwest’s new nonstop flights between Tucson and Sacramento will begin on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Flights are available on Saturdays and Sundays. During the week, Southwest can fly between Tucson and Sacramento, but a stopover is required.

Tucson-Sacramento fares on Southwest

We found one-way fares starting at $226 for nonstop flights from Tucson to Sacramento, with the cheapest fare found for Saturday, April 5. Fares for flights on Saturday were cheaper than those on Sunday.

Nonstop flights from Sacramento to Tucson started at $206 one way. The cheapest fare was also found for flights on April 5.

Where in California can you fly from Tucson?

With the new nonstop flights, Southwest will fly to three of the four California cities served by Tucson International Airport. The airline will also fly to Los Angeles and San Diego.

Nonstop flights between Tucson and Los Angeles are also available with American Airlines and Delta Air Lines. Southwest is the only airline that flies nonstop between Tucson and San Diego.

There are also nonstop flights to San Francisco from Tucson with United Airlines. Southwest does not offer nonstop service to San Francisco via Tucson, but does offer flights with one stop and no aircraft change.

Tucson also offers nonstop service to Los Angeles with American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines, to San Diego with Southwest and to San Francisco with United Airlines.
