“My party was…”: Hoda Kotb reveals how she celebrated her 60th birthday

Hoda Kotb recently celebrated her 60th birthday with a joyous occasion on Friday, August 9. The Today Show host spent the day at home surrounded by friends and family, including her daughters Haley Joy, 7, and Hope Catherine, 4.

On Saturday, Kotb shared highlights of the celebration on Instagram, including a silver birthday hat, her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, her daughters, her mother Sameha Kotb and other guests. The celebration included two cakes and a warm atmosphere.

“Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes! My party was perfect! Other than my sister being home sick – we missed you Hala,” Kotb wrote.

In a second video, Hoda Kotb celebrated her daughter Haley Joy’s birthday, making a wish, singing “Happy Birthday” and hugging Haley Joy tightly to the cake. They blew out the candles together as guests clapped. Kotb was later seen holding her daughters Haley Joy and Hope Catherine tightly in her arms.

Kotb also shared a photo of her home decorations, including birthday balloons and flowers by the fireplace. Another image showed her daughters posing happily and enjoying an outdoor meal with friends and family.

Kotb shared her birthday preparations on Instagram Stories on August 9. One story showed her unwrapping a gift from her daughters, while another showed Hope holding balloons. In another snap, the girls were seen hugging their grandma in the kitchen while their drawings decorated the back door.

“Great birthday morning!! Lucky me xoxoxo,” she wrote in the caption.

Kotb’s 60th birthday also featured a gathering with friends, including her Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie. Guthrie celebrated Kotb on Instagram, writing, “Happy birthday to the person who brings a smile to everyone they meet, who is quick to give a hug, whose giggle is contagious and who never stops cheering others on. To the person whose mere presence changes the atmosphere for the better… I love and admire you and cherish every minute we get to spend together.”

She concluded with the words, “That’s 60, you beautiful creature!” and added a photo of the two of them laughing together at the news desk.
