Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE NOW): For the first time, the Botanical Garden of the Piedmont on Melbourne Road in Charlottesville will host a Botanical Art Festival. The program of special events begins on Saturday, September 7th and runs until Thursday, September 12th.
You can enter the garden and admire the beauty of the cultivation taking place on the grounds and enjoy many other artistic offerings from some of the prominent local artists and businesses from the Charlottesville area! There will be a scavenger hunt for all ages through the garden and a hunt for rocks featuring popular book covers scattered around the property. Both the flower and rock hunts will take place on all 5 days of the festival. Various artistic workshops will be offered during the festival including learning the basics of nature journalism and garden painting, decorating walking sticks, and making paper flowers.
The festival will culminate with a botanical art exhibition, beginning with a cocktail party at the Bradbury on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. There will also be live music during the show.
