The two rivals last faced each other in June 2023 in an exhibition fight in Florida that ended in chaos.
In the sixth round, there was a lot of insults and rough tactics, which caused referee Kenny Bayliss to stop the fight and declare it void.
After the fight was stopped, Gotti III, the grandson of crime boss John Gotti, charged at Mayweather, leading to a mass brawl in the ring.
The fighters’ respective camps stormed the ring and exchanged several blows in crazy scenes – which resulted in both participants being escorted out of the venue.
Gotti III was given a six-month suspension for his antics in Florida and is now returning to the ring for a rematch with Mayweather after serving his suspension.
But that is in the past and the boxers are finally allowed to touch each other again.
