Special research steps and rewards

Although Welcome party is available in Pokémon GO for a while, the Special Research tasks and their rewards are still available and can be completed. As a multiplayer feature in the game, you can team up with a group of other players of the same name to complete challenges for additional rewards. This Special Research will introduce you to its various mechanics by requiring you and your teammates to complete various feats.




Includes additional Stardust, Pokémon encounters, XP, and additional avatar items. Welcome party is a fun time to participate in if you have friends over to play with – or have another account on a second phone. It’s a relaxing good time to participate in when you’re not trying to figure out the latest counters to beat Arlo Pokémon GOThe best reward of all is that you can catch an additional Eevee and a few Eeveelutions as part of the Special Research.

Welcome Party – Steps 1 and 2 in Pokémon GO

The first set of special Welcome Party research tasks in Pokemon GO and their rewards


The first step of the Welcome party Special research in Pokémon GO includes the task Complete 10 Party Challenges with a Chansey encounter as a reward. The second task of this step is to catch 10 Normal-type Pokémon and receive 2000 XP for it. This can include Kangaskhan after completing one of the Mega Kangaskhan raids in Pokémon GOCompleting all challenges will reward you with an Eevee encounter, 2,000 Stardust, and an Eevee t-shirt for your avatar.

The second step follows the same theme, but with variations on the tasks and rewards. To encounter Lapras, players must complete 30 Party Challenges – and then catch 15 Water-type Pokémon while in a party to earn 3000 XP. The first challenge is a great opportunity if you are in Pokémon GOFor completing this second set, trainers will be rewarded with an encounter with Vaporeon, 3,000 Stardust, and another Avatar T-shirt—this time with the Water-type Eeveelution.


In party play, you can form a party of at least 2 and a maximum of 4 players. Having the maximum number of trainers will help you complete challenges as quickly as possible.

The second half of the Welcome party Special research in Pokémon GO starts with earn an encounter with Alolan Raichi as soon as you Complete 30 more party challengesThis quest is also another great way to fill your Pokédex if you haven’t been able to participate in any of the Alola Raichu raids in recent years.


Next, you’ll earn 3,000 XP for catching 15 Electric-type Pokémon in a party. As with the previous step, completing both tasks will also earn you 3,000 Stardust—along with an encounter with Jolteon and a matching avatar t-shirt.

As for the final few challenges and rewards, the theme type is Fire. After you and your team complete a final set of 30 party challenges, an encounter with Alolan Marowak awaits you. If you haven’t had the chance to use one of the normal ways to obtain Alolan Marowak, Pokémon GOthis is as good an opportunity as any.

Another pack of 3,000 XP will be credited to your account once you catch 15 Fire-type Pokémon. An encounter with Flareon will lead to the rewards you get for completing the final set – alongside an ultimate drop of 3,000 Stardust and another matching avatar shirt with the flaming Eeveelution on the front.

For new trainers who are wondering why the Welcome party Special research is not available to them in Pokémon GOThis is because the Party Play feature is a Requirement is level 15 or higher.
