Las Vegas Raiders WR Tre Tucker from the locker room after the loss to the Dallas Cowboys

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The Las Vegas Raiders ended their fourth week of 2024 NFL training camp tonight with a loss to the Dallas Cowboys at Allegiant Stadium in their second preseason game.

Head coach Antonio Pierce decided today that he had seen enough of the Silver and Blacks’ quarterback battle.

He, along with GM Tom Telesco and OC Luke Getsy Gardner, named Minshew the team’s new QB1.

Pierce described his decision this morning, saying, “I’ll get right to it: Gardner Minshew will be the starting quarterback in the 2024 season. Me, (Tom) Telesco and Luke Getsy discussed that this morning. A lot of things went into the decision. It wasn’t based on last night. There are a lot of factors, so we believe Gardner gives us the best opportunity to get going quickly, and that’s what we’re doing. We support him, our teams behind him, our staff behind him, organizations behind him.”

So what impressed Pierce in his choice of Minshew? “Experience, the approach, the processing. The same things we saw in training showed up in some of the games. There are a lot of things we can improve on. I don’t think everything is ready here, but based on the first quarter of the season, we believe Gardner (Minshew) gives us the best chance.”

After the game, we met WR Tre Tucker in the locker room to discuss the contest.
