Chris Pratt paid a heartfelt tribute to his eldest son Jack on his son’s 12th birthday.

The Guardians of the Galaxy actor, who has the boy with ex-wife Anna Faris, posted new photos with the boy on social media in honor of his special day.

“Happy birthday to my beautiful son Jack,” Pratt wrote on Instagram on August 17. “I thank God every day for you sweet boy. You are so smart, funny, kind, thoughtful, trustworthy and strong. I love you so much little one. Twelve!? I honestly can’t believe it.”

The 45-year-old included pictures of Jack feeding and caring for animals on his farm in the San Juan Islands in Washington state. One of the photos shows Pratt with his son.

The “Jurassic World” star paid tribute to Jack as he and his pregnant wife Katherine Schwarzenegger prepare for the birth of their third baby together. The couple have daughters Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt, 4, and Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt, 2.

Pratt, who rarely posts pictures of his children on social media, spoke in May about the differences he has noticed between raising a son and raising his daughters.

“I hate to make generalizations based on gender, but in my experience, girls are more emotional,” he told E! News exclusively. “They have me wrapped around their finger. It’s wild.”

He also said that his daughter “doesn’t like to romp around.”

“I hit them with a pillow and they say, ‘Daddy, that hurt my feelings,'” he said of their play dates together. “They’d rather hear stories than fight.”

Pratt also later spoke about his parenting style, reflecting on how the way he raises his children differs from his own childhood.

Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt get parenting advice from a trusted source.

“I always did exactly what my parents said. I never knew I could say ‘no’ to my parents. And now I’m a guy who’s not super – who wasn’t very good at managing his own emotions,” he told E! News at the premiere of “The Garfield Movie” on May 19. “So we try to raise them to feel comfortable expressing themselves.”

He continued, “They still know the meaning of the word ‘no’ from their mother. When it comes from me, they don’t seem to know what it means. And I don’t really know what to do about it, but we’ll get through it.”
