LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – There’s a new piece of art in Old Town Lansing that you can laugh at and contribute to.

It is titled “Letters From Lansing.” The artist group Stupid Lansing worked on the piece for hours overnight.

It consists of more than 3,000 magnets on a large metal plate.

The piece includes messages, words and phrases that Michiganders can identify with. The group says many of the messages should be entertaining for members of the Lansing community.

“It’s really inclusive. I mean, anyone can come here and just play around with it. It’s temporary, which makes it a fun, fleeting moment that you can be a part of, too. It really encourages you to come out here and just have fun and be silly and just enjoy yourself and Old Town without having to spend any money or do anything crazy,” said Samantha Benson, executive director of the Old Town Commercial Association.

The piece can be seen at Turner Mini Park.
