Rimac Automobili has added a new, bold character to the Nevera family: the Nevera R. An exciting evolution, conceived as the aggressive alter ego of the Nevera. The R transforms from a Hyper GT into a Hyper Sportscar. As the name suggests, its evolution follows the philosophy of the Rimac brand: radical, rebellious, relentless.

Featuring next-generation Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring and advanced braking, paired with a performance-focused battery system and 2,107 available horsepower, the Nevera R is designed for cornering, while achieving its straight-line performance even quicker than the record-breaking Nevera, reaching 300 km/h (186 mph) in 8.66 s.

“When we developed the Nevera, a key part of the brief was that it had to be a grand tourer. We made sure it was spacious, comfortable and a fine balance between exciting and affordable. Ultimately, we achieved that balance perfectly: a high-performance record-breaking car that can set new standards on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and be driven in comfort for thousands of miles across continents.

It was a turning point in automotive performance; the world’s first mass-produced all-electric hypercar, single-handedly leading a new generation. But we are relentless in adapting to customer requests, and many were looking for a car that would really accentuate the Nevera’s cornering ability while taking advantage of all the advanced technology on board. Our answer to that was the Nevera R: all the DNA of the record-breaking Nevera, but lighter, faster and more focused,” said Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO of Rimac Group.

Rimac’s designers and engineers have thoroughly studied the Nevera’s characteristics and reworked elements to bring it even further into the hypercar realm. With more focused driving dynamics, a more performance-oriented battery, more power and more advanced braking, the Nevera R also embodies a visual identity that is driven by performance and refined by design.

Characterized by clean surfaces and a focus on perfect proportions, the Nevera R not only looks lower and sleeker, but also has a forward-pushing stance with its 21-inch rear wheels and 20-inch front wheels. The front of the car is designed to be both striking and technical, with horizontal lines that emphasize aerodynamic efficiency, stance and width.

This design was achieved through close collaboration between designers and engineers, with sensual surfaces and precise graphics seamlessly integrated into the front shell. Viewed from the side, the Nevera R displays a harmonious balance of body color and carbon fiber, contributing to its timeless, dynamic profile. The wheels feature new designs with longer spokes to emphasize their size and the distinct color differences.

The large, fixed rear wing combined with an aggressive aero package that includes a new large diffuser increases downforce by 15% and aerodynamic efficiency by 10%. With the new Michelin Cup 2 tires, overall understeer is reduced by 10%, lateral grip is increased by 5% and lap time on the Nardo Handling Track is reduced by 3.8 seconds.

This combination of negative camber, the increased grip of the new tires and the additional downforce means the Nevera R is ready to break physics like never before. Crafted according to a performance-focused design philosophy, every element has been rethought with agility and handling in mind.

The Nevera R offers improved performance with an even greater focus on driver feedback. It offers sharper, tighter cornering thanks to the new generation All-Wheel Torque Vectoring (R-AWTV) system, which has been retuned to maximize the potential of the high-performance tires. Increased downforce provides greater stability and lateral performance, setting a new benchmark for driving pleasure on twisty B-roads and occasional track use.

The traction control system has been revised to expand the R-AWTV’s capabilities and ensure predictable handling even in wet conditions. Drift mode has been adapted to the new tires and the steering system has been refined for more precise response and crisper feedback to the driver.

Built around Rimac’s next-generation 108kWh battery pack, the Nevera R uses cutting-edge technology to deliver more power and efficiency in a new, lighter package. At 2,107bhp, it’s even faster than the record-breaking Nevera. The new EVO2 brakes are made from carbon ceramic with a silicone matrix layer to provide improved braking power, cooling performance and durability under heavy use.

Launched in Nebula Green, the Nevera R is a visual evolution of Rimac’s history, translating the Lightning Green highlights of the Time Attack into a new color palette, both inside and out. The Nevera’s driver-focused, ultra-customizable interior has been updated with additional color and trim options. Painted carbon elements such as the main dashboard structure and center console panels can match the exterior color or be personalized to the customer’s preference.
