NEWBERRY — Green Timber Consulting Foresters Inc. and Grossman Forestry Company Inc. announced the merger of the two companies.

Justin Miller, President of Green Timber, and Gerald Grossman, President of Grossman Forestry, have signed a letter of intent to combine their two companies through the sale of Grossman Forestry to Green Timber, with an expected closing date of January 1.

Grossman Forestry, based in Newberry, has served landowners in the eastern Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula since 1991, while Green Timber, based in Pelkie, has served the forests of the western Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin since 2001. Together, the two companies will manage more than 550,000 acres in the Upper Peninsula, northern Wisconsin and the northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

The 17 professional foresters have more than 200 years of experience in forest management, timber harvest management, GIS, forest inventory, forest modeling and analysis, and certification testing.

“We are excited to join forces with the employees of Grossman Forestry. The combination of our two teams will provide our clients with expanded expertise and capabilities through a broader network of land management services while providing efficiencies through offices located throughout the Upper Peninsula,” said Miller.

Existing customers of both companies will retain their current account managers and additionally benefit from the expanded capacities and expertise of the partner company.

“As a group, we will continue to meet and exceed each customer’s goals and objectives while expanding our knowledge base through expanded forest management capabilities,” said Grossman.
