Suites on Singapore Airlines: airplane seats as big as a New York apartment!

Singapore Airlines is considered one of the largest airlines in the world. The airline is considered a leader in many areas, especially in terms of its luxurious first class experience.

Many of the airline’s Airbus A380s have been retrofitted with the new Singapore Airlines Suites, a stunning product that we will discover today.

Suite in Heaven

The Singapore Suites are only available on the 12-aircraft Airbus A380 fleet. While the First Class Suites are revolutionary, that doesn’t mean Singapore’s other premium products aren’t remarkable.

On the contrary, the airline is known for offering some of the best business class and premium economy products in the world. Its economy class service is also highly rated, as one would expect from such a top airline.

Singapore’s First Class Suites offer 4.6 square meters of space per person, depending on the seat booked. That’s insane for an airplane, considering that a studio apartment in Manhattan is about that size.

Given the high rents in the New York City area, a suite in Singapore could even cost as much as an apartment in Manhattan. Of course, a ticket for a first class suite in Singapore can cost up to tens of thousands of dollars, but if you book using points or similar offers, you can bring the price down.

Each suite is equipped with a solid leather reclining seat. The special thing about this seat is that it rotates and tilts effortlessly. You can turn the chair anywhere you want in the suite.

The suite also has its own bed and a huge in-flight entertainment screen, but there are special suite duos that can be combined to create double suites.

Passengers booking suites 1A and 2A or 1F and 2F next to each other can remove the partition between the suites to create a large double bed, offering twice the space for you and your travel companion.

The suites also feature sliding doors. While these are not floor-to-ceiling like those found in Emirates’ new “groundbreaking” first class suites, the doors in the Singapore suites are still quite high.

This creates an unparalleled sense of privacy. Combine this with blinds on the windows that can be closed at the touch of a button and you have the ultimate flying experience.

More information on in-flight entertainment: In the suites, these are huge 32-inch monitors. Passengers also receive Bang & Olufsen noise-cancelling headphones, which, when combined with Singapore’s KrisWorld entertainment system, will make passengers “for once wish the flight was longer,” according to the airline on its official website.

Passengers can control various aspects of the suite, including in-flight entertainment, via a portable wireless tablet. This allows them to control the suite’s lighting and even call the flight crew for any service-related requests.

It wouldn’t be a first class experience without fine dining. Passengers can enjoy first-class meals on Wedgwood china and linen tablecloths at their personal dining table.

Singapore is known for its “Book the Cook” service, which allows passengers to order any dish from the menu at any time. The menus are available up to eight days before a Singapore Airlines flight.

Where are they flying?

Singapore’s First Class suites are located on the A380 aircraft, so wherever these huge planes fly, you have the opportunity to book this incredible product.

The only North American airport where Singapore’s A380s can be seen is New York Kennedy (JFK). Singapore flies its A380 from JFK to Singapore via Frankfurt (FRA). You don’t have to fly to Singapore to experience the suite, as Singapore allows passengers to book the FRA-JFK or JFK-FRA segments.

In addition, the A380 also flies to the following cities:

  • Delhi, India (DEL)
  • Mumbai, India (BOM)
  • Capital Beijing, China (PEK)
  • Shanghai Pudong, China (PVG)
  • Hong Kong (HKG)
  • Tokyo Narita, Japan (NRT)
  • Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH)
  • London Heathrow, England (LHR)
  • Sydney, Australia (SYD)

Although you may have to shell out a significant amount of cash to enjoy this luxurious product, many tickets can be purchased for less with points (we don’t have the necessary permissions to discuss this here).

In any case, and regardless of the price, Singapore’s First Class Suites are sure to offer passengers an experience they will never forget.
