Congratulations to the 10 recipients of the ,500 Empower Bulloch Mini-Grant from United Way!

Congratulations to the recipients of United Way’s first mini-grant program! Thank you for your efforts to make Bulloch County an even better place to live.

Each of the following organizations received $1,500 through the United Way of Southeast Georgia’s inaugural Empower Bulloch mini-grant program.

The organisation said: “We are delighted to announce that the following organisations have been selected as recipients of our first mini-grants. We are very grateful for the great response to this mini-grants and look forward to seeing all the fantastic organisations working to make Bulloch even better.”

1. Altrusa Statesboro (Children’s Literacy)

2. Roosevelt Cone Jr. Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (Children’s Literacy)

3. Restoring The Breach, Inc. (Children’s Literacy)

4. Our girls rock too (children’s literature)

5. Feed the Boro (food insecurity)

6. Youth Career Commission Inc. (vocational training)

7. The Button (Health)

8. Behavioral Pediatrics Resource Center (Health)

9. Caring & Sharing Home for Boys (Food Security)

10. @foundationsresourcecenter (Financial Stability)

Each recipient had to submit an application in a specific category of community needs:

  • Affordable housing
  • Affordable childcare
  • Treatment of alcohol/drug abuse
  • Adult literacy
  • Children’s literacy
  • Food insecurity
  • Financial stability
  • Health
  • Vocational training

Inspired by data from Alice Bulloch County and insights from recent community discussions at regional Data Walk events this year, the initiative aims to create meaningful positive change across Bulloch County.
