WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women’s soccer team was voted No. 1 in the BIG EAST Conference in the preseason rankings. The Hoyas received 10 first-place votes, followed by UConn with one vote.
Junior Natalie Means and Seniors Eliza Turnerwho were both named to the All-BIG EAST First Team last season, both earned spots on the preseason All-BIG EAST team. Means started 21 games for GU in 2023 and was the team’s third-leading point scorer with 10 of five goals, three of which were game-winning goals. Means was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Third Team last season.
Turner returns to the Hilltop for her final season, where she will once again solidify the Hoyas’ midfield. Turner started 22 games for GU last season, scoring two goals and three assists.
GU will open the 2024 season on Thursday, August 15, when the Hoyas welcome SEC foe Vanderbilt to the Hilltop, marking the Hoyas’ season and home opener.
