Following reports that Avatar director James Cameron Although he may not direct films 4 and 5, the director has made things clear, stating that he would have to be near death to no longer be involved in the franchise.
“Sure. Absolutely. I mean, they’re going to have to stop me. I have a lot of energy, I love what I do,” Cameron said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter When asked if he still plans to direct Avatar 4 and 5, he said: “Look, if I get hit by a bus and I’m in an iron lung, someone else will do it.”
Well, we really hope that doesn’t happen. “Yes, I try to avoid such scenarios,” he added. Yes, Cameron. Please do that.
Production of Avatar 4 officially began in 2022, before Avatar 2, with the title Avatar: The Way of Waterhad even been released. But as we know, the production of these films takes a long time. After some delays due to strikes, the fourth part is scheduled to hit the screens in December 2029 and is said to be a direct sequel to Avatar3.
Little is known about Avatar 5, however, other than that it will be set on Earth, not Pandora. Avatar 5 is scheduled to hit theaters in 2031. “They’re written, by the way,” Cameron said of the fourth and fifth films. “I re-read them both about a month ago. They’re great stories. They need to be made.”
As for Avatar 3, Cameron gave a small update: “Yeah. It’s fucking cool. You’re going to love it. And I can’t talk about it.” Although no official synopsis has been released for the third film, which is called Avatar: Fire and Ash, we know that it introduce two new Na’vi and put them in the spotlight cultures, including a fire tribe, just as the first film focuses on the forest-dwelling Na’vi and the second on the coastal Metkayina tribe.
