John S. Chinelli Jr. 1958-2024 | News, Sports, Jobs

SALINEVILLE – On Saturday, July 27, 2024, John Salvadore Chinelli Jr. entered heaven at the earthly age of 65.

He was born on September 8, 1958 in Warren to John Salvadore Sr. and Rose M. Matuszwski Chinelli, just minutes before his twin sister Mary Lou “Missy.”

After his parents died, Bessie and Andy LaBuda (paternal aunt and uncle) started a blended family, raising Johnny, his three sisters and a brother, and their own two sons.

Johnny was a resident of Ohio, attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Elementary School and Edison Junior High, and graduated from Niles McKinley High School in Niles in 1976.

Born into the Catholic faith, he lived his life as a man of principle. As a robotics electrician at General Motors (GM) in Lordstown, Johnny was “the man you turned to” until his retirement from GM.

Johnny is survived by his twin sister Mary Lou “Missy” Chinelli, his older sister Patty (Geno) Testa; his brothers Joseph (Marykay) Chinelli, Ray (Donna) LaBuda, and John (Cindy) LaBuda; five nieces, Marilyn (Michael) Wagner (goddaughter), Elizabeth (Patrick) Medema, Becky (Paul) Jenkins, Andrea (Chris) Lewis, and Kristen (Nick) Vivo; and one nephew, Nicholas (Jenna) Testa; 18 great nieces and nephews; his maternal uncle, Johnny, and aunt Bea Matuszwski; his long-time partner, Tracy Wegendt; many cousins, and several lifelong friends: Mitch, Victor, Rick, Tommy K., Mark, and Billy.

Johnny was predeceased by his biological parents Rose and John S. Chinelli Sr., his biological parents Bessie and Andy LaBuda, and his eldest sister Cynthia Ann.

We will miss Johnny very much.
