Wisconsin couple describes Kwik Trip love story in engagement photos

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV/Gray News) – A couple is taking their love for Kwik Trip all the way to court.

Mike Riesterer and Holly Graffin met in 2019 when Holly worked at Kwik Trip in Milton, Wisconsin. Mike was a farmer on a local dairy farm and came to the store regularly.

“He came over in 2019 and I knew him through mutual friends and stuff, but never really talked to him. I just always thought it was kind of sweet when he came over,” Graffin said.

She said she and Riesterer owe the meeting to their colleagues.

“My colleagues tried to get me upstairs to check him out on our little headset and gave me a little push and then he came to the checkout,” she said.

After meeting, the two began talking and bonded over their love of farming and hard work. The rest is history.

Three years later, Riesterer proposed to her and they could not think of a better subject for their engagement photos than the place that had brought them together.

“I’m not a super serious person, so I just thought it would be fun to make Kwik Trip frosting and chocolate milk,” Graffin said.

The couple asked Amber Shinkay, a close friend and photographer, to take the pictures. She has been taking photos for Graffin since she was in high school.

The photos were a hit with her entire family and friends, as well as Graffin’s former colleagues at Kwik Trip.

“Everyone said, ‘This is great!’ They all really enjoyed it,” she said.

The couple will marry next March.
