Anya Taylor-Joy was impressed by Nicholas Hoult’s ability to devour one shot after another on the set of her new film, The Menu.

In the horror comedy, Anya and Nicholas play Margot and Tyler, a young couple who travel to a remote island to dine at an exclusive restaurant where the chef has prepared a lavish menu.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, the Queen’s Gambit star praised Nicholas for his ability to eat one gourmet meal after another.

“I don’t eat much in the film, but I have to tip my hat to Nick Hoult, who devoured everything in every take. By take 37 I was like, ‘Dude, you’re going to die!'” she joked.

The 26-year-old also admitted that she managed to keep her cool in front of Ralph Fiennes, who plays chef Slowik, during filming, but freaked out afterwards when she had to work with the actor, who plays Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films.

“I learned English by reading Harry Potter, so that was a pretty big deal, but my subconscious keeps me away from information I can’t process when I have a job to do, so I was cool and we got on really well,” she explained. “But the second it was over, I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ and called my mom and said, ‘The last person to face Voldemort was Harry and now it’s my turn!'”

Anya learned English after moving with her family from Buenos Aires, Argentina to London at the age of six.

“The Menu” will be in theaters on November 18th.
