POST FALLS – The Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center introduces a new event – Art Fest at JACC
The free arts festival will be held August 16 and 17 from noon to 7 p.m. at the JACC, 405 N. William St., Post Falls.
An art exhibition and sale will feature local artists Terry Lee, Jan Clizer, Avis Stafford, Julia Komsky, Becky Anderson, Deborah Loy, Doreen Graham, Priscilla Patterson, T Kurtz, Brooke Baggett, Greg Chapleski, JR McCurdie, Robert Brekke, Dave Gonzales and Annette Durkin. For sale will be original paintings in acrylic, oil, watercolor and pastel, metal sculptures and photographs, as well as numerous prints.
Bring your kids to create art under the guidance of artist Loy every day from 1pm to 3pm. Enjoy music, refreshments and artist demonstrations during the two-day festival.
“Through this curated art exhibition and sale, we hope to further expand the art offerings in Post Falls and the surrounding area while sharing the beauty of our historic building,” JACC Director Darla Dreyer said in a press release Wednesday.
Graham, who works primarily in acrylics, soft pastels and watercolors, said artists will bring affordable art to Art Fest to brighten homes, delight hearts and provide inspiration.
“If you don’t know about JACC, come and be amazed by this amazing gem that supports so many different types of local art,” Graham said.
Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, JACC is housed in a unique building created in 1921 by combining two churches from the 1890s.
