BBC releases trailer for “The Zelensky Story” by 72 Films

EXCLUSIVE: The BBC has released a trailer for its box set series that tells the story of Volodymyr Zelensky from his humble beginnings in the entertainment industry to becoming President of Ukraine at war with Russia.

The Zelensky story out of Elon Musk Show Maker 72 Films opens September 4th and was previewed by Deadline last year alongside a premium documentary about the London bombings. The trailer features interviews with the man himself, filmed during several trips to Ukraine, with director Michael Waldman getting the rare opportunity to interview the president along with First Lady Olena Zelenska.

In addition to interviews with the family and their inner circle, the series includes new reports from figures such as Boris Johnson, Nancy Pelosi, former British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace and Ukrainian President’s adviser Mykhailo Podoliak.

The series traces Zelensky’s story, from his work as an entertainer and comedian to his inauguration as president, which he took over after his success in a political parody series. Servant of the people. He has spent the last two and a half years leading Ukraine’s response to the war with Russia.

The Zelensky story was commissioned by Jack Bootle, Head of Commissioning, Specialist Factual, and the BBC Commissioning Editor is Simon Young, Head of History. The series was produced by 72 Films in association with the Open University, directed by Waldman, executive produced by David Glover and Jonathan Smith, produced by Jecca Powell and produced by Louis Lee Ray.
