John Leguizamo regrets some of the roles he turned down over his decades in Hollywood.

In an interview with Business Insider last week, the actor called turning down The Devil Wears Prada, in which he was offered “the role of Stanley Tucci,” one of his biggest mistakes.

“Also ‘Happy Feet,’ the role played by Robin Williams. And ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith,’ the role played by Vince Vaughn,” Leguizamo said. “I had my reasons. I mean, they’re stupid, but I had my reasons.”

“With ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith,’ it was because they were paying them $20 million and they wanted to pay me a pay grade,” he said. “I felt insulted, and they probably didn’t insult me, but I felt insulted.”

Leguizamo explained, “Sometimes as a person of color, you’re so used to being insulted that you think you’re being insulted, and sometimes you’re not being insulted. So that happens, and you have to do a lot of therapy to change that.”

However, he turned down “Happy Feet” for other reasons.

“I had done ‘Ice Age,'” he said. “I thought, ‘I don’t want to do all these ice movies.’ Such a stupid reason. But it seemed logical to me in the moment, and then I lost millions.”

While many actors regret the films they did not do, others regret the roles they did did Approach that ultimately didn’t work.

Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she should have listened to the advice of her good friend Adele and skipped the 2016 film “Passengers,” in which she starred alongside Chris Pratt.

“Adele told me not to do it!” the 2022 Oscar winner exclaimed in an interview with the New York Times. “She said, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies.’ I should have listened to her.”
