Appalaraju fights alone and without party support

The YCP has strong leaders in Srikakulam district, but they are currently silent. Since the party has suffered a major defeat, its leaders are finding it difficult to cope with it. They are finding it difficult to accept the role of opposition for the next five years.

All those who once claimed to be prominent leaders are now silent. Seediri Appalaraju, a young politician from Palasa who has been with the YCP since its inception and served as a minister for four years, is one of the few who are speaking out against the coalition government.

Appalaraju was given a ticket for the 2019 elections because he had proved his mettle by contesting alongside Jagan Mohan Reddy in the latter’s 2017 Padayatra and was immediately made a minister, cementing his position as a strong YCP leader.

But YCP representatives claim that TDP MP Gautu Sirisha, who defeated Seediri Appalaraju with a clear majority, is taking revenge on him.

Two cases have already been filed against Seediri Appalaraju and legal action is also being taken against his supporters. There are even reports that the former minister’s arrest is being planned as part of a larger strategy.

Despite all this, Appalaraju is fighting alone and his supporters are worried about the lack of support from the YCP.
