The Miz is one of the longest-serving stars on the WWE roster today. He has been with the company for 20 years and has achieved several goals, including the main event at WrestleMania and the Grand Slam title twice. The Miz has now revealed that he initially struggled as he became a leader in the locker room and someone other stars can learn from.

Speaking to WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes on his podcast “What Do You Wanna Talk About?”, The Miz explained that he was uncomfortable in the role of “mentor,” but has been able to grow into it over the past three years.
“I don’t know how much I do because sometimes I’m like, what am I supposed to teach them? And then I’ll sit there and watch a game, or some of them will say, ‘Hey, are you watching my game?’ And I’ll watch it and I’ll think of this, this, this, this, and I’ll think of a million things, and now I can actually see it. It’s interesting to be that guy, I never felt like that. Three years ago I was uncomfortable with that, and now I feel more comfortable and confident.”

The Miz also mentioned that he felt he gained confidence in mentoring younger stars in WWE when he started working on celebrity matches because he had the opportunity to train many of the famous people he later got to compete against. Now he uses the same methods on many of the stars he teaches today.
