The Bookseller – News – AM Heath reveals plans for ‘significant growth’ with key promotions

AM Heath has announced “significant” growth plans for the literary agency, which include a number of promotions and career moves.

Bill Hamilton will assume the newly created role of Chairman effective September 1.

Hamilton oversaw the agency’s development into a major presence in London publishing, representing award-winning novelists, historians, journalists and estates, including that of George Orwell. Hamilton will oversee the next phase of AM Heath’s expansion.

Victoria Hobbs has since been promoted to Managing Director. She joined AM Heath in 1999 and has built up an extensive client base including Women’s Prize for Fiction winners Maggie O’Farrell and Kamila Shamsie, as well as Conn Iggulden and Tim Shipman.

Hamilton said: “It is a pleasure and a privilege to welcome Victoria as Managing Director. She has been instrumental to the growth and success of the agency, attracting wonderful clients and inspiring us all with her passionate commitment to them.”

Hobbs said: “We at AM Heath have benefited greatly from Bill’s very special leadership style – generous, incisive and always collegial. We are delighted that as he moves to Chairman, we and his clients can continue to benefit from his broad knowledge and keen eye for all aspects of the business.”
