The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museum will celebrate the 28th year of its annual model railroad exhibit in 2023.
It’s time to submit your favorite Spiegel Grove snapshots to the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums Photo Contest for a chance to win membership, museum store gift cards, admission tickets, and more.
The top ten photographs will be featured in an exhibition at the Hayes Museum, and the top three photographs will appear in the annual report issue of Hayes Presidential newsletter The Statesman in early 2025.

This contest is seeking photographs of Spiegel Grove, the Hayes Presidential grounds, and a recognized arboretum.

The deadline for entries to the competition is September 30th.
Competition rules:
● This competition focuses on Spiegel Grove. Photos can show any aspect of the grounds, including nature, people or animals on the grounds, events or anything else in Spiegel Grove.
● All photos should have been taken between January 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024.
● Participants can submit up to three photos.
● Email high-resolution photos (300 dpi at least 8″ x 10″) to [email protected] with the photographer’s name, email address, phone number, and mailing address by September 30, 11:59 p.m.
● Participants who have social media are also asked to post their entry on their own social media pages and tag Hayes Presidential. Hayes Presidential is on Facebook, Instagram and X @rbhayespres. Participants who do not have social media can still enter and skip this step.
Winners will be notified by November 15th.
A professional photographer will judge the entries. Hayes Presidential will notify the winners by November 15.
The prices:
● First Place: One-year Colonel membership, which includes benefits of the North American Reciprocal Museum and the Reciprocated Organization of Associated Museums, a $50 store gift card, and a gift bag.
● Second place: Four tickets, $30 store gift card and gift bag.
● Third place: Two tickets, $15 store gift card and gift bag.
● The top three will be printed in the annual report edition of The Statesman newsletter.
● The top 10 photos will be displayed in the Hayes Museum Rotunda and posted on Hayes Presidential social media.
