Impact100 of Wichita Falls presents grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita County

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – At the conclusion of the Impact100 WF grant cycle, sixty women came together to raise sixty thousand dollars.

All to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita County by helping them with whatever they needed.

“The check presentation is my absolute favorite part. It’s so exciting and you can see the joy on the recipients’ faces,” said Ruth Jones, co-president of Wichita Falls-based Impact100.

This transformation grant will meet a long-standing need and make a former dream a reality for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita Falls.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita Falls previously said child care was limited due to transportation restrictions.

However, with this scholarship, their opportunities have doubled.

“This will immediately double our potential capacity for these programs. It will open up whole new opportunities to connect with families who don’t have transportation, with kids who don’t have transportation. It’s a way for us to bring our volunteers and our kids together,” said Jean Hall, Market President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita County.

Hall goes on to say that they are grateful for the support the influential woman has provided.

Looking ahead to next year, Jones hopes that providing this collective grant will encourage more local nonprofits to apply.

“We are always looking for more nonprofits to participate in our grant application process, and we encourage local nonprofits to dream big and come to us with a great project. We had all kinds of great projects this year. It was very hard to make a decision. So we hope to do the same again next year,” Jones said.

Women are encouraged to join Women of Impact100. The annual cost is $1,000, and every penny goes toward the scholarship.

The organization offers scholarships and says you can also be sponsored by a company or organization.

The members are united by the common goal of serving and promoting the community.
