American checks into hotel abroad for business and finds the “craziest” room ever

One of the best parts of traveling is checking into your hotel and seeing where you’ll be spending the next few days taking in the sights and sounds of a new city.

However, a woman who checked into a hotel in Oslo, Norway, was given a room so unusual that she described it as “crazy” in a video.

In conversation with NewsweekAsh, who is from the US but currently lives in the UK, called it a “wild experience”.

When checking in at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Norway’s capital, a receptionist told him that he knew she was traveling on business and that he would “make sure you get the best hotel room for your business trip.”

Ash thought nothing of it, but when she entered the room, she realized that it was actually a study; next to her double bed was a fully equipped conference room, set up and ready for meetings.

“I almost freaked out because it was so random,” said 30-year-old tech salesman Ash Newsweekand added that one of her colleagues, who was staying at the same hotel, was provided with a similar conference room.

Ash doesn’t know what to make of her hotel room in the video. She told Newsweek she was “laughing her head off” because it was so bizarre.

In a TikTok post on her account @ashseestheworld on August 23, Ash gave a tour of her hotel room, showing the large conference table, the television, eight chairs around the table and more stacked in corners and in the closet — 27 chairs in total.

“Sir, what do you think I’m going to do?” Ash said, showing him two separate bathrooms and office supplies, including Post-It notes and a staple remover.

She captioned the video, “The craziest hotel room,” adding, “This is so out of the bag, WHAT?”

In conversation with Newsweek Of her room with the “million chairs,” Ash said she may have gotten the unusual spot because the hotel was fully booked. But “the bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed and more, so I didn’t say anything.”

However, Ash added: “I have traveled extensively for work over the past seven years and I have NEVER experienced anything like this.” Newsweek has asked Radisson Hotels for comment.

TikTok users were furious at the video, which has over 31,000 views and thousands of likes. One viewer wrote: “At this point I think the bed is accidentally there and you guys wake up and watch a board meeting take place.”

Another posted: “At least that’s what I imagine if the CEO says they work from home but doesn’t allow their other employees to work remotely.”

“So crazy, but iconic at the same time,” commented a third.

And one commented: “Or is this just a themed hotel room, such an immersive experience.”

Ash told Newsweek: “I was here alone last night and unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to make the most of my personal conference room. Maybe next time!”
