Jennifer Aniston’s hilarious moment with Adam Sandler over luxury car gift resurfaces

Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler’s friendship dates back to the ’90s, when Aniston got her big break on Friends and Sandler was a screenwriter on Saturday Night Live. The A-list duo, best known for their comedies Murder Mystery and Just Go With It, recently grabbed the internet’s attention with a hilarious exchange in a resurfaced clip.

While promoting the 2023 sequel to Murder Mystery, Aniston, 55, and the 57-year-old Happy Gilmore star sat down for an interview with USA Today. The newspaper recalled Adam Sandler’s lavish gifts to his Grown Ups co-stars. The actor revealed that he gifted his lucky co-stars David Spade, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider two Maseratis and a Tesla.

Aniston sat next to him, mouth hanging open, as Sandler continued to share funny memories from the 2010 film, the same year he filmed Just Go With It with the former Friends star. A resurfaced clip from the interview, now going viral on TikTok, shows Aniston abruptly standing up in the middle of the interview and leaving the scene.

The hilarious development came after Jen was asked if Sandler had given his “Murder Mystery” co-star any gifts to commemorate the three films they made together over the past decade. In response, the comedian joked about the three Ferraris he ordered for Aniston in honor of the three films, none of which were ever delivered.

Consequently, a disappointed Jen didn’t hesitate to leave the interview and told her co-star to carry on alone. The hilarious moment, typical of their roles in Murder Mystery, has once again lit up the internet, amassing millions of views from fans online.

The TikTok clip of the interview went viral, garnering over 2 million views, according to BuzzFeed, while another clip, in which David Spade describes his phone conversation with co-star and comedian Chris Rock about what they received from Sandler, sent the internet into a frenzy.

Adam Sandler, an SNL veteran, is loved for his generous and naturally humorous demeanor, but he reached new heights when his 2010 film Grown Ups exploded at the box office and became one of his highest-grossing films. The comedy flick, which Sandler co-wrote and produced, was panned by critics, however.

To show his appreciation for his co-stars and the success of the film, he pocketed a million dollars and bought a Maserati for each of them, including Kevin James.

However, the co-stars were in disbelief and had no idea what was going on since Sandler hadn’t informed them about the large package. According to LADBible, David Spade thought he was leaving Sandler’s car in his driveway for some reason until Chris Rock called him and confirmed that it was indeed a gift. They all got one.

However, the Joe Dirt star later admitted on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that he was quite embarrassed driving the gifted Maserati. Rock, on the other hand, had big suspicions about a possible motive behind the free luxury car.

To be honest, there was no motive for this and Adam Sandler simply wanted to express his gratitude for the success of Grown Ups, which was estimated at $270 million at the time.
