Labor Day Picnic, Mudvayne Show

GREEN BAY – The long Labor Day weekend is just around the corner and you may still be looking for things to do.

We’ll keep you updated on Labor Day events and other happenings in town this weekend.

Labor Day picnic on Bay Beach

The Green Bay Labor Day Picnic with Wisconsin AFL-CIO will be held Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Bay Beach Amusement Park, 1313 Bay Beach Road. The picnic will be held in Shelter 1 and 2 of the park.

Star Wars in Ojibwe

“Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” in Ojibwe dubbing will premiere this weekend at Bay Park Cinema, 755 Willard Drive, Ashwaubenon. It is one of four Marcus Theatres locations in Wisconsin showing the film in Ojibwe, including Cedar Creek in Rothschild, Palace in Sun Prairie and Ridge in New Berlin.

Guided tours of the snow leopard cave in the NEW Zoo

Starting Saturday, you can take a limited tour to visit the snow leopard den and see how Bodhi and Ahava are cared for. Tours run from August 31 to September 5 before moving to Tuesdays and Thursdays in the fall. Tickets are $80 for a group of up to six people. Purchase tickets at newzoo.org.

The NEW Zoo and Adventure Park, 4378 Reforestation Road, Suamico, will also be open on Labor Day during regular hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mudvayne at EPIC

Heavy metal legend Mudvayne headlines with All That Remains on Sunday at the EPIC Event Center, 2351 Holmgren Way, Ashwaubenon.

Tickets range from $77 to $122 on etix.com. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

French and Indian war camp

Heritage Hill State Historical Park, 2640 S. Webster Ave., Allouez, hosts its French and Indian War encampment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Artisans demonstrate 18th century arts and crafts. “See French, British and Anglo-American soldiers as they would have been on campaign,” the website says.

Admission to the park is $13 for ages 13-64, $11 for ages 65 and older and military with ID, $8 for youth ages 6-12, and free for members and children under 5.
