Story about RFK Jr. and dead whale causes uproar

The strange stories about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. keep coming. The latest one involves a whale carcass and was first reported more than a decade ago, but has just resurfaced. New York Times reported. In 2012, Kennedy’s daughter Kick Kennedy told City and country Her father once used a chainsaw to cut off the head of a dead whale he found on a beach in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, during a family vacation. She said he tied it to the roof of their car with a bungee cord and drove it back to their home in New York, citing her father’s “eccentric environmentalism” and interest in animal skeletons. Guardian reports.

As the article has resurfaced in various publications in recent days, the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund is calling on federal authorities to investigate the alleged incident. The progressive environmental organization says the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration should investigate whether wildlife protection laws were broken. “Normally, an unconfirmed anecdote would not serve as sufficient evidence for an investigation,” the group says, but an earlier story about RFK Jr. and a dead bear cub “created the impression that this was normal behavior for him, so he may also possess other illegally collected wildlife parts.” (More stories about Robert F.
