Impact100 Wichita Falls hosts fifth annual Big Give event

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – In its fifth year, the Big Give event, led by the women of Impact100 Wichita Falls, united by a shared vision to transform the community through collaborative efforts.

This year’s initiative continued to pursue the goal of driving positive change.

“This organization is a coalition of women. We want to give these funds to a charity that will make a difference. And all three of our nominees tonight will make a difference with their projects,” said Ruth Jones, co-president of Impact 100 WF.

Nominees this year included the Allred Chapel Project, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wichita County and the Wichita Falls Backdoor Theatre.

After strategic planning and warm introductions from the nominees, it was time for the ladies to vote and select the recipient of this year’s award.

“It’s just a really incredible organization. There aren’t many things where the group comes together and you feel that sense of inclusion. Without your money, without your time, these projects wouldn’t be possible. We couldn’t do it, you know? I think there’s just a certain level of buy-in that comes with that that you might not get anywhere else,” said Shannon Coppage, Impact100 WF member.

Jones expresses her enthusiasm and is looking forward to next year.

“I am very grateful to the organizations that apply to us for grants and hope we get even more next year because it is a great project every year and we are so happy to be able to support the community charities,” Jones said.

In five years, Impact100 WF has returned over $500,000 to the community.
