Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are potential new additions for big names

There’s no denying that the upcoming boxing video game already has a strong roster, but I’m hearing from several people in the industry that even more big names are on the way.

From a news and commercial perspective, I hear Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are being added to the roster. Paul’s name on the roster is not new.

I asked Paul about his inclusion in the Puerto Rico game in March. Paul was surprised by the question but admitted he was in talks to make the squad.

With Paul set to face Tyson in the debut of live sports on Netflix in November, the expectation that Tyson will be included in the match is not only reasonable—one person I asked even said, “You bet on it.”

Tyson is no stranger to video games. He had his own classic boxing title, Punch-Out, and has been part of several EA Sports combat sports titles. Most recently, Tyson and Muhammad Ali were added to EA UFC 5.

I would expect to see Tyson from different eras.

While it’s unlikely that both Paul and Tyson will be available at launch, it makes sense to keep an eye out for them closer to their fight in November.

I’ve also heard that Steel City Interactive and Deep Silver, the developer and publisher respectively, are looking to add Gervonta Davis, Devin Haney, Marvin Hagler, Xander Zayas, David Benavidez, Andy Cruz and Jaron “Boots’ Ennis” to their roster, in addition to Paul and Tyson.

It would be a surprise if at least three of these fighters did not sign contracts and join the roster at the start or thereafter.

Undisputed has been available in Early Access for PC for over a year. A recent update to the release version has revised the striking technique, which represents a significant improvement in gameplay.

Hopefully the developers will have found the ultimate sweet spot by October 11th.
