Digital Sales Room Company raises .35 million (seed capital)

Digital salesroom and customer onboarding company Trumpet announced it has raised $6.35 million in a competitive seed funding round led by AlbionVC. The company’s previous investors Lightbird Ventures, Anamcara Capital, and Triple Point Ventures also participated in the round, which will enable Trumpet to expand into the U.S. and drive AI and machine learning-based sales intelligence signals generated using the millions of proprietary data points Trumpet collects during sales cycles.

With B2B sales more difficult than ever, customers are becoming harder to win. And the majority of the buyer journey now takes place without the salesperson – meaning digitally savvy buyers need support. The sales enablement market has grown significantly in recent years, and sales teams now need to change their mindset to support buyers in decision-making and streamline processes.

Trumpet improves this process by enabling sales teams to centralize the buying process from pitch to renewal in a single link – a collaborative workspace. This includes deal information, content, schedules, communications, etc. stored in these digital spaces. This creates a seamless customer experience that helps sales teams sell even when they are not in the room and differentiate themselves from the competition.

Trumpet now has over 10,000 users and over 250 paying customers, including Cognism, OpenTable, Sky Media and Crossbeam. And the brand and product have gone viral in the sales communities. 20% of Trumpet’s customers are in the US, with no marketing or teams based there.

Rory Sadler (CEO), Nick Telson-Sillett (CMO) and Andrew Webster (CPO) founded Trumpet in 2021. Telson-Sillett and Webster are successful second-time founders, having launched hotel booking platform DesignMyNight and turned it into an eight-figure revenue stream, while sales specialist Sadler was previously Head of Sales at product analytics platform Hotjar before joining the duo to found Trumpet and solve the problems they had experienced in the sales process.

KEY QUOTES:

“Companies continue to tighten their belts due to the economy, and that means sales teams must fundamentally change the way they approach selling. We help companies collaborate and centralize their buyer journey to increase their sales efficiency and velocity. Our proprietary revenue intelligence signals also help revenue leaders predict and understand their deal pipeline like never before. The new trend of buyer activation is here, and we are at the forefront of it. We are excited to partner with Paul and the team at Albion as they help us expand into the US and integrate AI into the platform so we can continue to serve buyers and sellers.”

  • Rory Sadler, co-founder and CEO of trumpet

“Rory, Nick and Andrew have built one of the most exciting B2B platforms we’ve seen in recent times. Elegantly designed and extremely easy to use, Trumpet has already proven its effectiveness with global teams. Pods has so much potential to manage not only the conversations between buyers and sellers, but other areas of B2B communications as well, and I look forward to working with the team as they expand and grow.”

  • Paul Lehair, Partner at AlbionVC

“Providing an outstanding shopping experience is very important to us at Cognism, so partnering with Trumpet was an easy decision. We were able to enable our buyers to easily evaluate our offering via a link, while also seeing more multi-threaded deals and an increase in sales velocity. The collaboration between us and our prospects within the pods also gave us a strong signal to better predict deals.”
