Houzz invites students to apply for its annual scholarship program

Applications for the annual Houzz Scholarship Program are now open and the 2024 scholarship winners have been announced. Houzz Inc.a leading platform for home renovation and design.

As part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of construction, remodeling and design professionals, the program awards five $2,500 scholarships in the categories of Women in Architecture, Residential Design, Sustainable Home Design, Residential Management and Crafts.

“Houzz supports students in the construction, renovation and design industries through Houzz scholarships, free student subscriptions to our industry-leading project management and design software, Houzz Pro, and guides to getting started in the industry as they continue their education and prepare for the job market,” said Liza Hausman, Vice President of Industry Marketing at Houzz.

“Our 2024 fellowship applicants were recognized for their passion for the built environment, their early experiences in the field, and their plans to make their mark on the industry,” Hausman added. “We are honored to accompany them on their journey and look forward to their contributions to the industry.”

The scholarship program is open to students studying interior design, architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, construction management or the skilled trades. In addition to submitting a short essay about their influences in the fields of design and architecture, applicants must also create a professional student profile on Houzz, where they can showcase their portfolio of work and connect with more than 3 million active professionals around the world.

The application deadline for the 2025 scholarship is March 31, 2025. For further information and applications, please visit houzz.com/scholarships.

The 2024 scholarship recipients are:

  • Women in Architecture: Molly Gildar, studies architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology
  • Home design: Jungmin Seo, studies architecture at Boston Architectural College
  • Sustainable home design: Olufemi Faminigba, studies architecture at the University of Cincinnati
  • Residential construction management: Jan-Pierre Guzman, studies architecture and construction project management at the University of Maryland
  • Crafts Housing Construction: Reyna Palfreyman, studies welding at the Universal Technical Institute

“I am deeply honored and excited to have been selected for this year’s Residential Design Scholarship and am very grateful to Houzz for their generous support,” said Jungmin Seo. “This scholarship will play a crucial role in helping me realize my dream of pursuing a career in residential design.”

In addition to the Houzz scholarships, students who want to gain hands-on experience and excel in the job market can also take advantage of Houzz Pro for Students. The program offers students in residential and design-related degree programs a free one-year subscription to Houzz Pro, the all-in-one project management and design software for interior design, construction and remodeling professionals. Students have the opportunity to learn how to use software tools such as takeoffs, estimates, proposals, 3D floor plans, mood boards and schedules that help them develop efficient and sustainable business practices.
