Much-needed rain coming later this week

Much-needed rain coming later this week

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KSLA) – After nearly a month of hot, dry weather across Arkansas, it finally looks like we’re on the verge of a change in the weather that could bring some beneficial rain to the region.

Tonight is expected to be a calm night with just a few passing clouds and temperatures between 21 and 25 degrees.

Tuesday will start quietly, but as moisture increases from the south during the afternoon, a few showers or thunderstorms can’t be ruled out. The best rain chances will be in the southwestern parts of ArkLaTex. Temperatures will rise to 35 to 40 degrees, but it feels like temperatures will likely be above 38 degrees.

It will look similar on Wednesday, with only a few showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. It will be another hot day at the end of August with highs of around 35 degrees and temperatures feeling in the three-digit range.

By Thursday, a major wave of moisture will spread northward from the Gulf of Mexico, significantly increasing the chance of isolated storms across the region. Once that moisture arrives, it will stick around through the weekend, bringing daily thunderstorm chances.

With the added cloud cover and chance of rain, we’ll see a cooling down, with highs hovering around 90 degrees through the weekend and possibly dropping to the 80s early next week!

Have a nice evening!
