John Nasukaluk Clare conducts classical show with a focus on Indiana

Classical Music Indy (WICR) is expanding its program with a new offering: Classic Beat Scheduled to premiere September 1, this new classical music radio show, hosted by John Nasukaluk Clare, will showcase Indiana’s classical music and arts scene.

Classic Beat offers a mix of recordings, exclusive interviews and insider perspectives every Sunday from the region’s leading arts organizations, including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Opera, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and the American Pianists Association.

John Nasukaluk Clare, the first Native American to host an all-classical radio station, is also the host of the nationally broadcast Classical Music Indy program, Classical music at any timeThis follows the resignation earlier this month of Michael Toulouse, artistic director at Gretna Music in Pennsylvania and host of the morning show at SiriusXM’s Symphony Hall.

Clare has a diverse background in broadcasting in several states including Missouri, Texas, Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania. Clare also founded the Las Vegas Chamber Music Society and has performed with several symphony and chamber orchestras nationwide.

Clare commented: “I am incredibly excited to be part of Classic beat.
