During an appearance on the comedy podcast Club Random with Bill MaherThe 61-year-old filmmaker spoke about his love for the original Toy history trilogy and explained in detail why he has no interest in watching the subsequent films, especially Toy Story 4 (2019).
Tarantino praises “Toy Story” trilogy and other film series
Tarantino, known for directing films such as pulp Fiction And Kill Billexpressed his admiration for the Toy history Trilogy with the statement: “I don’t watch all the cartoons and stuff, but I’m a big fan of the Toy history Trilogy.”
“I think there is only one trilogy that works absolutely and completely, and that is For a handful of dollars, For a few dollars more And The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.”

The director praised Toy history 3and called it “one of the best films” he has ever seen.
However, he expressed his lack of interest in watching the fourth installment, stating: “Anyone who has seen the other two just finds them devastating. Then, three years later or something, they made a fourth one and I have no desire to watch it.”
“You literally finished the story as perfectly as you could, so no, I don’t care if it’s good. I’m done.”
“Toy Story 5” is currently in development – release is planned for 2026
Despite Tarantino’s disinterest in the future episodes of the franchise, Toy history 5 is currently under development.
Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed at this year’s D23 Expo that Andrew Stanton, two-time Oscar winner and director of the original film, will helm the project.
The upcoming film, which deals with children’s obsession with technology, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 19, 2026.
